The Rev. Absalom Jones

We asked our congregation to tell us more about this painting hanging in our sanctuary. It is a portrait of the first African Priest in America, circa 1803.

Carol Spencer wrote:
"The portrait was done by Howard Villiers, a parishioner of Rev. Broderick Guerra’s former parish. It was donated to Christ Church by Rev. Broderick’s mother, Mercedes Broderick Guerra."
